Easy spicy Tomato Poha (With Thin Poha)
This is a warm, spicy & easy dinner for a winter night. I prepared this recipe when I really wanted something to eat spicy on a very chill night for my less appetite tummy.
Ingredients:
1. Thin Poha - 1 Cup
2. Oil - 4 tablespoons
3. Mustard Seeds / Kadugu - 1/2 tablespoon
4. Curry Leaves (Optional)
5. Jeera - 1/2 tablespoon
2. Oil - 4 tablespoons
3. Mustard Seeds / Kadugu - 1/2 tablespoon
4. Curry Leaves (Optional)
5. Jeera - 1/2 tablespoon
6. Onion - 1 small
7. Tomato - 2 small
8. Turmeric Powder - A pinch
9. Hot Red chilli powder - 1/2 tablespoon
10. Garam Masala - 1/4 tablespoon
11. Jeera - 1/2 tablespoon
12. Lemon
12. Lemon
Preparation method:
1. In a pan add the oil and heat it. Once it got heated, add in the Mustard Seeds / Kadugu, jeera, curry leaves, and lets it splatter.
2. Add the finely chopped onion to the pan with turmeric, salt and fry it on low flame for 2 minutes.
3. Now add in the finely chopped tomatoes to the pan and fry them along for a min.
4. Add in the red chilli powder according to the need of your spiciness along with garam masala.
5. Mix them well and add 1/4 glass of water to the masala mixture. Now keep it in a sim flame and let it completely reduce to a masala consistency leaving some oil.
6. Add in the thin Poha (Don't wash or soak) to the masala and mix it well.
Note: If you have normal Poha, soak in water for 1 min, drain it completely and add it to the masala.
7. Squeeze in some lemon juice to the Poha. Garnish with coriander and chopped Onions.
I didn't know how to utilize the thin Poha packet I had and discovered this yummilicous dinner recipe with that.
